Calibration - Nonlinear Radiometer Response

  Then,

  Two-point radiometer calibration eliminates b0 and b1 from <V>, so that

Here,

K=Boltzman's constant, G=Amplifier gain, B=Bandwidth, T=Amplifier temperature, Ts=Radiometric temperature

Two-point calibration:

    Warm (internal blackbody) target: Tw, Cw
    Cold target: in lab,  Tc=84K, Cc
in space, Tc=2.73K, Cc
    Cw, Cc = radiometeric counts from view of warm and space target, respectively.
    Tw, Tc = physical temperatures of warm and space target, respectively.
    Note:  The nonlinearity (of the order of 1K) cannot be evaluated by the two-point calibration and must be determined in the lab.
