VIIRS DNB/I-Band Imagary - 20 September 2017, 2:13 am EDT

At 2:13am (AST/EDT), Maria made a glancing blow to St Croix, just skinning the teeth of the western part of the island. Per the NHC 2am Advisory, it was a Category 5 at the time, with winds of 165mph. No evidence of mesospheric GWs in the DNB, but you could see San Juan and Ponce on Puerto Rico.
