Directory contains data files of daily continental snow extent estimated from various snow cover products
Time series of snow extent may have gaps. Invalid or missing values are assigned nsnow extent of "-1."
Some gaps may be filled in the future when satellite data are reprocessed. 


daily_snow_extent_multisensor.dat   :   Daily snow extent estimated from Global Multisensor Automated Snow/Ice Mapping System
                                        Snow cover over Northern Hemisphere in these maps is derived with combined observations from 
                                        satellite opticaal and microwave observations. Over Southern Hemisphere only optical/infrared data
                                        are used (currently METOP AVHRR). Original global snow maps are generated a 4 km spatial resolution.
