This set of data is an extension of the original Version 8 SBUV/2 DVD published in 2004. Please see the following location for documentation files that were included on the original DVD: ftp://ftp.orbit.nesdis.noaa.gov/pub/smcd/spb/ozone/dvd_v8 The data included here is from the SBUV/2 instruments onboard NOAA-16 and NOAA-17. The data from NOAA-16 spans from 2000 - 2007 and is an extension of the data included on the original DVD (see above link). The NOAA-16 data is a newer version than the data originally on the DVD. New calibration updates have been used to reprocess the data. The NOAA-17 data includes data from July 2002 - 2007 and was not available on the original DVD. Note: The NOAA-17 2002 data is still being evaluated and will be available on this site in the near future. The data has been corrected for eclipses. Error code 7 is used to indicate taken taken during a known eclipse. For NOAA-17 an error code of 7 was also used to indicate stray light anomaly (In Band Stray Light). The data files are in the same ASCII format used on the published DVD. Please see the above link for format and Version 8 algorithm information. The Software directory that is included contains basic reader programs (IDL and FORTRAN) for the data. Please contact Eric Beach (eric.beach@noaa.gov or 301-763-8176 x325) with any questions regarding the data or problems accessing the FTP site.
