MSG/SEVIRI -- Data Archived in HDF format
MSG/SEVIRI data were downloaded from McIDAS server at Wisconsin SSEC and saved in HDF file with compression. Please see the "Readme" file for detail.
1. MSG/SEVIRI data in HDF format is available from 01/01/2005 to 09/30/2008. These data came from two MSG satellites:

2. File name convention of MSG/SEVIRI HDF files
Filename: XXXX.FD_v2.yyyydddhhmm.hdf
XXXX: satellite id, "meteosat8" or "meteosat9"
3. Calibration Parameters in MSG/SEVIRI HDF files
The calibration parameters saved in HDF file was copied from the McIDAS database.
For some unknown reasons, calibration parameters of some observations are in question.
Please see the "Memo for MSG calibration" for detail.
4. Corresponding static file is also availbale
/data/home001/wguo/DATA/SEVIRI/MSG_Static/meteosat9.fd_v3_static.hdf
It contains the following information for each pixel in MSG full disk:
latitude, longitude, height, IGBP land Type, sensor zenith and sensor azimuth angles.
(The version number "v3" is for static file itself only. It should work with SEVIRI images stored in directoty "SEVIRI_HDF_v2".)
