GOES Animations and Microsoft Edge
Due to the April 9 Windows 10 update, GOES animations are broken in the Microsoft Edge browser. We are aware of the problem and are seeking a solution. Meanwhile, please try a different browser to access this site, which is not broken.
CIMSS Natural True Color is a multispectral product composed of bands 1 (blue), 2 (red), and a generated green component made by mixing ABI spectral bands 1, 2, and 3 to mimic the absent green channel. Natural Color was developed at the CIMSS and the STAR Advanced Satellite Products Branch in Madison, WI. Because this derived product is made entirely from visible or near-infrared channels, Natural Color images are black during nighttime hours, unlike GeoColor images.
