STAR Teams Contribute to JSTAR Provisional Status for key NOAA-21 Datasets

20 April 2023 - As a consequence of the JSTAR SDR and VIIRS EDR Cal/Val teams' efforts, the following important J2 datasets reached provisional maturity level and are now available to users. This declaration coincides with the NOAA-21 Handover Review March 29/30. The JSTAR teams worked extremely hard to achieve this milestone and were recognized for their efforts by the handover review team.

JPSS program manager Lihang Zhou praised the effort: "Congratulations to all the teams and indeed a remarkable JPSS program milestone achieved. All NOAA-21 Mission Unique Products (MUPs) reached Provisional and in operations on schedule, some are even ahead of the schedule. The science improvements demonstrated in the reviews were also quite impressive."
