Annual Science Team Meeting to be held August 24th - 28th, 2015, in the
Auditorium and Conference Center at the NOAA Center for Weather and
Climate Prediction (NCWCP) in College Park, Maryland.
The theme of the second annual meeting will be "JPSS-1 Readiness".
The goals for the meeting are to present the accomplishments of the
STAR JPSS program over the past year, and to highlight the progress in
instrument calibration, ability, and algorithm upgrades as we prepare
for next year's launch of JPSS-1. Through this meeting we plan to
accomplish the following objectives:
- Review the progress of the STAR JPSS program over the past year
and review the plans in the coming year, particularly as their
relate to J1 pre- and post-launch activities;
- Engage with users and other stakeholders such as NASA, OSPO,
OSGS, NDE, GCOM, JPSS Risk Reduction and Proving Ground, the JPSS
Ground and Flight Segments, and industry partners.
- Review the latest developments in the integration of GOES and
JPSS algorithms in the Enterprise algorithm system.
- Enhance interaction between SDR and EDR teams and facilitate
science and technical exchanges among the teams.
- Hold splinter meetings with users to review and renew plans for
improved utilization of JPSS products, especially with consideration
of new capabilities of the J1 instruments.
