This home page provides real time rainfall rate estimates over the northeastern Pacific Ocean, including Alaska and Hawaii, based on cloud top temperature measurements from the GOES-West satellite 10.7 micron channel.

This product has been calibrated and validated only for the continental United States (US). This product is similar to that used over the continental US, and was modified (January 2000) to use moisture corrections and equilibrium level adjustments. It remains an experimental product.
