STAR - Global Vegetation Health Products : Switch from NPP to J01

The Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) is a sensor on board the polar-orbiting Suomi National Polar-orbiting Partnership (Suomi NPP) and NOAA-20 ((i.e. J01) weather satellite.

Suomi NPP was launched on October 28, 2011,
NOAA20 was launched in November 18, 2017.

Vegetation Health product was processed by using VIIRS data on NPP or NOAA20 when the data are available.

It was noticed that VIIRS data on NPP were not available since 7/28/2022 and VH team decided not process VH product for NPP after week 30 of 2022.

Through NESDIS/STAR FTP/web server, 4k VH products in geoTiff and NETCDF format are continuously provided by using NOAA20 data (satellite id: j01)
